This was a 5-day training program for doctors and nurses in Anambra State. It focused on advocacy, screening and early detection of common cancers. Under the leadership of Anambra State Ministry of Health and Breast Without Spot, Marjorie Bash Foundation participated as technical partner in the implementation of this project.
This project was delivered by the Cancer Control Consortium, led by Marjorie Bash Foundation. Its goal was to educate men in Abia, Akwa Ibom, Enugu, Rivers and Plateau States on prostate cancer. This project combined the power of social media and cloud computing, to deliver focused awareness by using high-quality videos. Over 2,000 men and women were reached in person, and more than 6,000 through Facebook.
Training of Traditional Birth Attendants (Ndiakata, Obingwa LGA, Abia State). Working with a team of medical experts from Nigerian Christian Hospital, our foundation helped train traditional birth attendants in this remote community on the management of labor. This was part of our attempt to reduce the rising maternal mortality in remote parts of Nigeria.
